The first of this autumn’s Neighbourhood Nights events was a big hit. We welcomed around two dozen residents who came along to tell us about the things affecting them – both good and bad!
It was held at Priory Court Community Centre, Waltham Forest, on Wednesday (24 September) from 5.30pm – 7.30pm.
Residents spoke to our teams who were able to sort out many things on the spot, making appointments for repairs, contractors visits, or simply providing advice.
All matters raised were logged and will be followed through. And our thanks for those who gave us positive feedback on our services, and ideas for how we can improve them.
It was a pleasure to welcome the local Fire Brigade – to provide fire safety and prevention guidance tips – bringing their engine with them. This was a great hit with the children while their parents were busy talking to our advisers! The children also spent time drawing and face painting, joining in together, junior community builders!
As the evening temperatures started to dip, it was great to tuck into a delicious plateful of warming chilli and rice, and a delight to see many joining each other to eat. What a great way to build your community!
For those popping in on their way home, there were plenty of snacks and refreshments on offer too.
Board members, including the new Chair Bob Heapy, and our Leadership Team including our Interim Chief Executive Jerome Geoghegan, joined us towards the end of the evening too, as they had been out and about that evening visiting a number of our estates in Waltham Forest to see your homes for themselves.
Thank you to everyone who came to see us, we look forward to seeing you again.
