Moving into your new home

As the homeowner, you are responsible for servicing, maintaining, repairing and replacing the gas appliances in your property.

Regular servicing

You must arrange regular servicing, as appliances that are not checked and maintained will become inefficient and may become unsafe.

If you sublet your property, you are legally obligated to service and inspect your gas appliances annually.

A fully trained tradesman should perform all appliance servicing and maintenance annually, and a Gas Safe Registered engineer must check gas appliances.

Our responsibility to protect other residents

We have a responsibility to protect other residents in our buildings.

If we believe a gas appliance is potentially faulty, we will seek to gain access and carry out an inspection. We only do this as a last resort if we've been unable to contact you. The cost of the inspection and any remedial work will be charged back to you, the homeowner.

Communal heating systems

We are responsible for communal heating systems and for checking and maintaining shared flue or duct systems.
